My Work Experience

While I have a wide variety of work experience since 2013, the following roles highlight my focus on strategic communication, conversion rate optimization, and audience engagement over the last ten years. My most recent gap in work is due to time spent learning sustainable farming techniques and farm management full-time on an oyster farm in Florida. 

RGC

Random Golf Club

Director of Marketing

July 2023-December 2023

Random Golf Club is a Media and Lifestyle brand that encourages people from all walks of life to get outside and make new friends through the sport of golf.

​

I came into the Director of Marketing role with an immediate challenge: Launching a new membership app within the first 30 days of me joining the team. 

​

This launch not only needed to generate downloads, it also needed to integrate a number of existing business verticals, including NFT, event ticket, and retail apparel sales. 

​

By leveraging audience browsing and purchase data, our marketing team developed a go-to-market plan focused on personalizing app promotion messaging across social media, email, and sms, while cross-promoting additional revenue streams.

​

These efforts resulted in the 2nd largest, single-day totals for revenue and traffic for our online store on launch day. Within two months, we had amassed 20,000+ unique downloads.

Highlights:

​

  • Developed company-wide marketing calendar for all non-partnership revenue streams.

​

  • Oversaw direct reports (Ecommerce Manager, Social Media Manager, Community Marketing Manager) and collaborated with production and design teams to generate content across Online store, Email/SMS, iOS/Android app, Meta, Google, and TikTok channels.
     

  • Managed multiple simultaneous marketing initiatives, including retail clothing releases, live events, content drops, app launches, and Black Friday campaign development.

 

Duck Camp

Duck Camp

Ecommerce Marketing Manager

July 2022 - July 2023

Duck Camp is a Lifestyle and Apparel brand that aims to take the road less traveled when it comes to developing gear for hunting and fishing enthusiasts. Subverting the norms of a typically male dominated space, Duck Camp values community over accolades and encourages both men and women of all experience levels to reconnect with nature through outdoor sportsmanship.

I joined the Duck Camp team to help optimize conversion rates on their Shopify store, as well as increase revenue through Email and SMS channels.

​

I oversaw a website redesign focused on improving the functionality and performance of our product, collection, and landing pages. I also maintained our digital product catalog and product launch calendars, ensuring alignment between operations and marketing for timely messaging across owned company channels.

​

In my time at Duck Camp, Email, SMS and Direct marketing channels saw a revenue increase of 68% and traffic increase of 90% YoY. I'm also very proud to be a part of the team that launched their women's line.

  • Oversaw product and PDP creation across Netsuite and Shopify platforms.

  • Implemented UI/UX improvements and directed website redesign using insights from Hotjar and Clarity to increase website revenue and conversion.

  • Redesigned website navigation based on intuitive product collections and taxonomy.

CMG

Chive Media Group

CX and Operations Manager

March 2020 - March 2022

Chive Media Group is a one-of-its-kind lifestyle brand reaching millions of fans per month through digital media, e-commerce, community building, and charity.​

 

I joined the the CMG team to help turn around a Customer Experience department that had been managed fractionally by employees with other roles. This department handled inquiries across every company vertical, including our online store, community app, media site, and charity foundation.

​

When I started at CMG, I quickly cleared their backlog of a few hundred service cases. In that time I brought on four service representatives and implemented communication strategies that would minimize customer resolution times while still nurturing brand voice. This proved incredibly valuable in bottom-of-the-funnel marketing and retention efforts.

​

I also added the role of Operations Manager to my list of responsibilities, managing a subscription vertical with revenue totals over one million dollars per year in all departments including purchasing/sourcing, marketing, and fulfillment.

​

While under my management, Chive Media Group saw their average rolling 30-day Customer Satisfaction Score increase from 85% to 95% in less than six months. Each representative I trained maintained individual CSAT scores ranging from 94-98% for a 30-day rolling average.

Highlights:

  • Oversaw the entire Customer Experience department, executing key strategies and hiring four representatives to reduce customer resolution times and improve satisfaction scores from 85% to 95%.

​

  • Implemented live support capabilities with intercom software.​
     

  • Coordinated with multiple 3PL facilities to ensure timely order fulfillment.

​

  • Wrote the standard operating and training manual for the Customer Experience and Operations departments.

​

  • Managed subscription vertical with $1mm+/year in revenue, overseeing all operational needs from purchasing and fulfillment, to marketing and customer support.

Grandex

Grandex, Inc.

Growth Marketing Manager

June 2015 - July 2018

Grandex, Inc. was a Media and Lifestyle retail clothing company based in Austin, TX and my introduction into the business model of leveraging content to generate D2C ecommerce revenue.​

 

While I am highlighting my three years as a Growth Marketing Manager, I started with Grandex as a Customer Experience and Fulfillment Director. My success in implementing strategic communications in this department, and my desire to pursue a career in marketing led to the c-suite moving me into the Growth Marketing Manager role.

​

At Grandex, I was in charge of managing marketing initiatives for two company properties: Our in-house clothing brand, Rowdy Gentleman, and our apparel resale website Man Outfitters. This was an incredibly scrappy company, and often we had to rely on resourcefulness to develop and execute our campaigns.

​

While there, my responsibilities ranged in everything from managing our marketing calendar and team workflow, to coordinating photoshoots and writing product copy. 

​

It was an excellent introduction to the above-and-beyond work ethic needed to produce results in a startup environment, and I couldn't be more thankful for the experience.
